NALC has been contacted by The Eden Project with a request to help promote its new campaign – Greentime17.
The aim of Greentime17 is to make 17 minutes per day in nature part of the national psyche – a daily habit much like getting your 10k steps in or eating five a day – and the antidote to screen time. The 17 minutes is based on a piece of research from the University of Exeter which shows that 120 mins per week can benefit our health and wellbeing. And by spending time in nature, people are more likely to take care of it – win-win for people and planet.
It’s part of the Eden Project’s Nature Connections programme and funded by the Lottery, Ashken Family Foundation and BUPA – delivered in partnership with the Wildlife Trusts in some of the areas where the Eden Project is delivering therapeutic horticulture activities – Cornwall, Morecambe, Liverpool, Gwent, Belfast and Dundee. A training element is also going to follow.
